Get hooked to Parsi Cuisine!! Review :Sodabottleopnerwala, Powai





             



Nothing can beat the summer weekday blues than meeting fellow #jammies for an aesthetic lunch at @SBOWindia (sodabottleopnerwala) , stealing sometime out for ourselves to indulge in a lot of fun and some productive conversation.




 
Here I was meeting some amazing ladies from @jammsnetwork along with founder of jamms @RituG and simultaneously we got to have a scrumptious meal. A must visit place for all Parsi food lovers.  

Curated by Chef Hemant Sonar, we savoured authentic Parsi culinary. This was the second time I got an opportunity to taste Parsi food. The first time was at a friend’s wedding.  The  theme inspired by  Iranian style cafes stereotyped with Parsi food specialities gives it an evocative name. The interiors mesmerized me and contemplated to click more pictures as they spoke out typical eccentric  & quirky concepts. My favourite being the stern disclaimer. The dishes too are ingeniously named.

 Do not forget to have their unique traditional  delicacies styled & twisted in a novel way, like

#RasberrySoda & MasalaSoda – Nothing quenches your thirst other than a refreshing drink.














 #chickenbaidaroll - the name of the dish says it all.

#KeemaPav – I only prefer home-made keema and having this dish here made me feel at home. It had GHAR JAISA SWAAD!! Health conscious foodies can even have Wheat Bran Pav

#Kolami Fry – An ultimate dish for sea food lovers

#patranimacchi (Steamed fish in greenchatni) - The fish was as soft as it can get.

#prawnspatio  - Off lately I have started eating prawns not delightfully but yes as a taster I don’t mind. It was mind-blowing. Dipped in tasty curry ,  this dish can be ordered as a starter or main teamed up with rice. 

#MushroomonKhari – Untill now I had Khari only with tea but this was well explored dish.

#breachcandyawsomeokra - Dish made of finely grated okra.

#Dhansak - I loved the presentation ,  it is served in tiffin, keeping in mind the legacy and tradition attached to it. It has vegetables/lentels/chicken/mutton served in gravy along with caramelled brown rice and kuchumber.

#Berrypulao (veg-chicken-mutton) though I avoid eating rice but looking at this dish made me more hungry. Basmati rice with berries, fried onion & nuts adds an aromatic flavour to it.



Still want to have more...then let your mouth melt with mind-blowing desserts like
#mawacake (my favourite) – A speciality worth trying.  Softest cake ever tasted.

 #jeeroaunty'stobleronemouse  - gives you an instant kick if you are a chocolate lover .


If anywhere I have loved #kulfi it has to be this place. It just melts in your mouth.  It is the original Parsi kulfi.


 If you have ever attended a Parsi wedding this dessert is a must and it was an icing over all the yummylicious stuff . Yes it is #laganucustard. You can’t get over with only one. We ordered for a second round and YEH  DIL  STILL MANGE  MORE!!!!

5 Star to Food, Service, Ambience, and Décor. Conveniently located at Powai, this place is going to be a start attraction in the days to come. Serves Veg-Non Veg  food & Alcoholic-Non-Alcoholic drinks, desserts & more….
